4Minute to Comeback with Revamped Double Title Tracks

So even though I’ve decided 4Minute is probably my 3rd favorite girl group, meaning I need to do my rankings all over again, I’m super pumped for their comeback.

EDIT: The first of 4Minute’s title tracks, “Cold Rain”, has been released as of January 26!

On January 20, CUBE uploaded a CGI-infested teaser to 4Minute’s Official Youtube Channel. From what we see, we could guess the concept is ‘Waterworld’ however, I’m aware how wrong I would be if that was my official guess.

November’s Girl Group Takeover: Successful

So after an overall subpar fall so far, save for Kyuhyun’s continuous slayage, November has seen the return of multiple prominent girl groups, as well as some newer faces making their way into relevance. It’s quite welcome, since September and October were both very mediocre in terms of releases. Now that SNSD is on the verge of destruction and floppage due to Queen Jessica being ousted, and 2ne1 is on the backburner for CL trying to happen in America – the rest of the Korean Girl Groups are trying to battle it out for the title of the Nation’s Girl Group.

October Could Have Been Worse

After a super sub-par September, I was hoping for a better October. I know I’ve spent most of October both reliving the beautiful memories of B1A4’s concert and whining about the lack of a Kyuhyun solo album (which we finally got after the massively successful campaign #justice4Kyuhyun). Now that I’ve effectively managed to buy two copies of Kyuhyun’s album, and will be writing up a review in the next few days, I can finally bring myself to care about October’s music again.

All in all, there were some really good releases. I’m going to use Wikipedia’s chart as a guide and go through the month in order from the 1st to the 31st so I don’t forget anybody…. Continue reading

September 2014 is the Worst Month for K-Pop, Period

I don’t even know how to start this post. This month has been so miserable in the world of K-Pop for so many reasons. Obviously, not trying to be a ‘self centered jerk who makes light of incidents’ – the worst thing happening being Ladies’ Code accident that took the life of EunBi and RiSe. While the lives of two girls are obviously much more important than the music industry, considering they were K-Pop figures, it’s not harmful, in my opinion, to state how it affected the industry and fans of the industry. When you’re attached to a public figure, their passing obviously can make you upset.

It seems as if this tragic event set a cloud over the month to come.
