Top 45 K-Pop Songs of 2014 (Part 2)

After a week, here we are with the remainder of the Top 45 K-Pop Songs of 2014 countdown! In case you missed it, here’s Part 1.

Why 45? Because I feel like it. Because 50 is overdone. Because there were more than 20 good songs this year. Because I’m including non-titles unlike a certain music chart.

Songs 25-1 will be revealed here. Have you figured out what Number 1 is yet?

Top 45 K-Pop Songs of 2014 (Part 1)

Hi all, so this is obviously the moment you’ve been waiting for. After a long year, it’s time to count down the best songs of the year. While Billboard’s list wasn’t complete crap, I’ve made a much better, cohesive list that doesn’t name trash like GDYB “Good Boy” as one of the best songs of the year. Obviously I’m not getting paid off to write this, so the list will be entirely objective.

Why 45? Because I feel like it. Because 50 is overdone. Because there were more than 20 good songs this year. Because I’m including non-titles unlike a certain music chart.

So here you have, the Top 45 K-Pop Songs of 2014, numbers 45-26!

November’s Girl Group Takeover: Successful

So after an overall subpar fall so far, save for Kyuhyun’s continuous slayage, November has seen the return of multiple prominent girl groups, as well as some newer faces making their way into relevance. It’s quite welcome, since September and October were both very mediocre in terms of releases. Now that SNSD is on the verge of destruction and floppage due to Queen Jessica being ousted, and 2ne1 is on the backburner for CL trying to happen in America – the rest of the Korean Girl Groups are trying to battle it out for the title of the Nation’s Girl Group.

And, as expected, there have been amazing releases to try to obtain that position.

September 2014 is the Worst Month for K-Pop, Period

I don’t even know how to start this post. This month has been so miserable in the world of K-Pop for so many reasons. Obviously, not trying to be a ‘self centered jerk who makes light of incidents’ – the worst thing happening being Ladies’ Code accident that took the life of EunBi and RiSe. While the lives of two girls are obviously much more important than the music industry, considering they were K-Pop figures, it’s not harmful, in my opinion, to state how it affected the industry and fans of the industry. When you’re attached to a public figure, their passing obviously can make you upset.

It seems as if this tragic event set a cloud over the month to come.

T-ara’s Top 10 Offensive Videos

First of all, I’m so sorry I haven’t posted in over a week. Between being pretty upset over Eunbi and Rise still…being super busy with work…and taking classes too…I’ve been really unmotivated to post. Though I’ve since decided community college classes I’m taking for the Hell of it since I already have a degree from a 4 year school are not half as important as this gem of a blog. Not to mention, T-ara had their comeback with “Sugar Free” – and you all need to hear my thoughts about it. Since I still haven’t bought the CD, and I want to do a review…I’m going to do things a bit different this time.

I’ve realized in the last two weeks that T-ara is actually my favorite girl group, making the My Top 10 Girl Groups post obscure. I’ve also decided that the Best to Worst T-ara Member List is as follows:

  1. Soyeon
  2. Eunjung
  3. Qri
  4. Hyomin
  5. Jiyeon
  6. Boram
  7. Areum
  8. Hwayoung. She is miserable and deserved to get bullied.

So now that I finally have sorted out my bias list, we can proceed. Continue reading
