Red Velvet Release Sub-Par Solo Day “Homage”

Alternatively titled: Calling SM Out on Ripping off B1A4 for the Second Time in 12 Months

I haven’t talked about the B1A4 Propaganda Agenda for a little while on the blog. I’ve

alluded to it while talking about Ailee’s album cover, but I can’t think of any instances since then. Well, I was tryna do my own thing, mind my own business, but then the Most Overrated Rookie Group of All Time (no, not EXO), Red Velvet had a comeback. And it’s time for the B1A4 Propaganda Agenda to return.

Do Fans Overreact to Members Leaving Groups?

In just two weeks, three more idols are, or are rumored to be leaving their groups. While I am not a fan of either of these groups whatsoever (though EXO’s “Overdose” is still one of my favorite songs of 2014), I can’t help but want to talk about the situations and voice my opinions on here, since many people who are fans seem to be seeing the situations a bit more irrationally.

September 2014 is the Worst Month for K-Pop, Period

I don’t even know how to start this post. This month has been so miserable in the world of K-Pop for so many reasons. Obviously, not trying to be a ‘self centered jerk who makes light of incidents’ – the worst thing happening being Ladies’ Code accident that took the life of EunBi and RiSe. While the lives of two girls are obviously much more important than the music industry, considering they were K-Pop figures, it’s not harmful, in my opinion, to state how it affected the industry and fans of the industry. When you’re attached to a public figure, their passing obviously can make you upset.

It seems as if this tragic event set a cloud over the month to come.

I’ve been too busy to do any writing lately, which was fine since the K-Pop industry was essentially gone because of the Sewol Ferry Incident.

Anyways before we talk about EXO, let’s start by recapping some of the other things that have happened since I last posted. Continue reading

SM The Ballad Turns Into a Huge Mess

In 2010 SM debuted their first company-wide unit, SM The Ballad, featuring Super Junior’s Kyuhyun (obviously the most important singer in the world), SHINee’s Jonghyun, TRAX’s Jay, and another member Jino, at the time and currently not involved in any SM Entertainment groups. The group released an EP and promoted it. The EP included two group songs and solos. It seemed to go over well with fans, and ever since I became a fan of K-Pop in 2011, I kept hearing about the demand for an SM The Ballad comeback.

Well the demanders wish has been granted, but I suppose ‘beggars can’t be choosers’. SM released a statement on February 3 (note: Kyuhyun’s birthday) that SM The Ballad will be promoting in 2014! Continue reading
