Two Underwhelming Comebacks Too Many

As I stated in my last post about JYP’s iconic comeback, I was going to talk about Big Bang’s comeback in my next post. However, I almost forgot about Sexpost Hyosung’s comeback so I figure I may as well kill two birds with one stone and talk about how underwhelming both of them were at once and end my pain sooner.

Top 45 K-Pop Songs of 2014 (Part 1)

Hi all, so this is obviously the moment you’ve been waiting for. After a long year, it’s time to count down the best songs of the year. While Billboard’s list wasn’t complete crap, I’ve made a much better, cohesive list that doesn’t name trash like GDYB “Good Boy” as one of the best songs of the year. Obviously I’m not getting paid off to write this, so the list will be entirely objective.

Why 45? Because I feel like it. Because 50 is overdone. Because there were more than 20 good songs this year. Because I’m including non-titles unlike a certain music chart.

So here you have, the Top 45 K-Pop Songs of 2014, numbers 45-26!

October Could Have Been Worse

After a super sub-par September, I was hoping for a better October. I know I’ve spent most of October both reliving the beautiful memories of B1A4’s concert and whining about the lack of a Kyuhyun solo album (which we finally got after the massively successful campaign #justice4Kyuhyun). Now that I’ve effectively managed to buy two copies of Kyuhyun’s album, and will be writing up a review in the next few days, I can finally bring myself to care about October’s music again.

All in all, there were some really good releases. I’m going to use Wikipedia’s chart as a guide and go through the month in order from the 1st to the 31st so I don’t forget anybody….

4 Member Girl Groups Take Over Summer 2014

As many of you know, I’m not a huge fan of Girl’s Day or Sistar, but it’s undeniable how both “Darling” and “Touch My Body” are basically the two biggest songs of the summer. While there’s nothing remotely original about “Darling” – particularly the “Shy Boy”-sound to the song, I can’t say I disliked it – mostly because of the “Shy Boy” similarities. “Touch My Body” is one of the most original singles Sistar has released, and I actually enjoy it. The dance is cute, and I’m not sure why they’re getting so much criticism for an ‘awkward dance’ – since it looks fun, and isn’t even that hard to do.

Anyways, I’m mostly here to write about the other 4 member girl groups of Summer: BESTie, Red Velvet, Secret, and KARA. 

My Top 10 Girl Groups

So in trying to figure out how to integrate a bit of myself into the blog, so maybe my readers can see where my thoughts and opinions come from, I’m going to do a quick list of both my Top 10 Boy and Girl Groups. Now that the boy groups have been posted, I’m going to try to figure out my top 10 girl groups, though they change constantly. Please note that these are not necessary the ‘best’ girl groups, but the girl groups I most enjoy. If I’ve seen a group live, I’m gonna bold their name.

There are so many groups I wanted to include but I only have room for 10 plus a Rookie shout out spot… there are way too many flawless girl groups to be honest, and I listen to a lot more girl groups than boy groups.
